HAMPSHIRE V SUSSEX

The Seniors started their 2008 campaign with a friendly fixture against local rivals Sussex who elected to batafter winning the toss. Only G Cole 45 & run machine Andy Meads 67 provided any real resistance but with bowler Steve Mitchell (9-0-30-4) showing good early season form Sussex collapsed from 140-2 after 37 overs to 174-9.

In reply Ian Britton 53 & Tony Oxley 75* cruised comfortably towards the Sussex score, the Seniors winning with nearly 6 overs to spare. A solid performance which bodes well for the season ahead.
