HAMPSHIRE V WORCESTERSHIRE

Hants won the toss, inviting Worcs to bat on a wettish wicket. Stuart Hicks & John Hall bowled very tidily making runs difficult to score, the first wicket falling through a run out as Worcs tried to up the run rate. Chris Westbrook & Mick Swain kept up the pressure & the introduction of the mercurial Pat Wickson (6-0-25-3) paid dividends as he secured 3 wickets. The return of opening bowler Hall (9-4-15-3) polished off the lower order as Worcs finished on 133-9 from their 40 over allocation.

In reply, after being 11-3, Brian Hart (21) & Mick Swain 63* steadied the ship. With the  departure of Hart it was left to Swain & Wickson (34) to put on 78 for the 5^th wicket as Hants coasted to a comfortable victory with nearly 5 overs to spare.
